The "Debate" on Confederate Statues

There is continued "debate" on what to do with all the confederate statues. Well this is what they represent. This is a speech from Alexander H. Stephens, Vice President of the Confederate States of America it's called the Cornerstone Speech. In it he says this about what the Confederacy stands for:
[I]ts foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery—subordination to the superior race—is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.

The cornerstone of the Confederacy was slavery plain and simple. And by seceded the states committed treason against the United States of America. The people who supported the confederacy and fought in the war (all those generals who have monuments) were traitors to the United States of America. That's what the statues represent. That's the "southern" heritage that people are trying to preserve.

Why is there a debate over what to do with these things. They all need to go away. NOW!!!!!!
