Mr. Opportunist

I think that best describes Joe Lieberman. As far as I can tell the only thing he stand for is promoting Joe Lieberman and making sure he wins re-election. Nothing shows this more than he stand or actually the constantly evolving stands on health care. Because of the rules of the Senate having to deal with a filibuster; Lieberman knows he is in the drivers seat.

He’s for a public option but then not so much for it. Doesn’t like the idea of expanding Medicare:

Dissatisfaction with the Medicare plan erupted Sunday, when Lieberman said it could undermine the larger Medicare program and harm providers. In a meeting with Reid, he threatened to join Republicans in defeating the package.

There was a report on CNN last night that when Lieberman runs for re-election in 2012 he might run as a Republican. All options are open the report said. Just shows he will do anything, anything to stay in office.

You also have to question in general in this day and age the rules of the Senate. If you can get 41 Senators to agree on something they can essentially stop any legislation they don't like. That, to me, is just wrong.

Lieberman is a complete weasel. His moral compass is broken and shouldn't be trusted by anyone. If I was the Republican leadership, I wouldn't trust him after seeing how he's treated the Democrats.

I believe the term loose cannon is a good one to apply to Lieberman. I just wish he'd go away but it looks like that won't be happening any time soon.
