I'd really like to be able to link to these two things but they're ads that appeared in Sunday's Post so there's no way to do it.
The more serious one I'll mention first. It's on page A-19. It starts out by saying:
For a team very few people stood by, how about a standing ovation?
The ad goes on to say: Here's something you haven't seem much of lately. Congratulatory praise for a team that has been the focus of one of the most unfair, unforgiving and unfortunate media spectacles in our nation's history.
This is an ad for the Duke Lacrosse team. It goes on to laud all the good deeds that the team has done. I agree that this was a media feeding frenzy. And it was funny when the media did a post mortem on it there was plenty of blame to go around for this fiasco but none of it was put at the feet of the media. Gee what a surprise.
Now the other ad well I just started laughing out loud. Here it is:
Larry Flynt and Hustler Magazine announce a cash offer of up to $1 million
It goes on: Have you had a sexual encounter with a current member of the United States Congress or a high-ranking government official? Can you provide documented evidence of illicit sexual or intimate relations with a Congressperson, Senator or other prominent officeholder?
It goes on to give an 800 number and an e-mail address to contact Hustler. I have to assume this has something to do with the DC Madame who was arrested not to long ago. I think her black book was blocked from being released to the media.
Happy Sunday reading everyone.
