Happy Birthday Snoopy!

Yes today is Snoopy's birthday:

Happy Birthday Snoopy! Our favorite Peanuts character, that fun-loving and hilarious dog we all know and love will be celebrating his birthday on August 10. As you all know my family is obsessed with the Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, and all things Snoopy- so August 10 doesn’t go unrecognized in our house. Charlie Brown’s sidekick Snoopy was a huge part of everyone in my house’s childhood – regardless of how many years ago that was, and when his birthday comes around we all get a little nostalgic.

Although the Peanuts comic strip actually began running in newspapers in October of 1950, it was later revealed that our favorite beagle’s birthday was celebrated on August 10. A series of comic strips running in the paper in 1968 celebrated Snoopy’s birthday for the first time, and August 10 was later named his official birthday and was celebrated in the animated movie “Snoopy Come Home.” If only we could all age as gracefully as Snoopy!
