At the Newseum

After the Building Museum I headed over the Newseum. An interesting exhibit on the 1960s. There was also an interesting exhibit on the American Revolution.

Last Stop — The National Gallery of Art

The last stop on my museum journey was the National Gallery of Art.

Recreating a Master Piece

This is one of the great things to see at the National Gallery someone trying their hand at recreating a master piece. In this case it's a Turner.

She has her iPad open and zoomed in on the people in the picture that are in the lower left corner.

Springfield Farmers' Market

Saturday morning we got up and met up where the relatives were staying. Some people went on a tour of the Wilson Creek Battlefield. While the rest of us headed off to a farmers' market which was right by the hotel. Here are a few pictures from it.

There was just about anything you wanted from flowers to vegetables to beer and wine to cake to  . . .

All sorts of home made soap.

More from Jack's 90th Birthday Celebration

I flew out the Thursday before Jack's birthday which is on June 27. My aunt and uncle and several cousins arrived on that day too.

On that Friday we got together at Hemingway's which is located in the Bass Pro Shop (actually you have to describe it as a mega store) for lunch. Most of us got the buffet. And it was well worth it. An amazing and wonderful selection of food. Just great. And the desserts. Wow. That's all I can say wow. We were trying to figure out how to smuggle out the bowl the chocolate mousse was in but couldn't figure out how to do it.
