More of the Mansion

This is the upstairs of the mansion. The first picture shows the game and tack room. The Woodward family was involved in raising horses. Here guests could change in and out of their riding clothes. The next to last picture is a look down the stair case. Gave me a small case of vertigo. The final picture is a slave inventory from the mid 1750s.

The house looks big, but it doesn't look like a mansion, just a regular home.

From today's perspective, I would agree it doesn't seem all that big. But you have to think back to the 1750s. At that time the house was large. It also had buildings around it that are long since gone. The house sat on over 2,300 acres.
