2Political Episode 57

2PP057 - 20 June 2011

2Political Podcast Episode 57- is now available. You can listen to it or download it from the podcast site, You can leave comments there as well as download or listen to any episode (you can access the five most recent episodes from the list on the right side of my blog).

This episode was delayed because Arthur was swamped with projects. It was recorded before Representative Anthony Weiner resigned. But before we talk about that, we talk about the debate among seven Republican presidential candidates. Arthur focused mostly on the candidates’ positions on a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. Naturally, we veer into related topics.

When we get to talking about then-Representative Anthony Weiner, we both think the treatment he received was ridiculous but Arthur was especially pissed off about it (and yes, he knows he messed up Vitter’s first name at one point). It leads on to some talk about why such a stupid story became so big.

We next talk about an important “ballot” that Jason received. And that leads on to economic topics, including some from New Zealand.

At the very end, we talk about liquefaction, after the recent big Christchurch earthquake. Arthur mentioned San Francisco’s “Mission District”, but meant “Marina District”.
